Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS)

Gain the knowledge and authority to communicate data center needs to upper management and positively influence spending decisions. Armed with the Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS) skillset, you will be more effective at maintaining and improving site performance, reliability, and efficiency, and delivering business value.

Program Overview

If you and your team are responsible for data center uptime and performance, the ATS program provides the critical knowledge you need to keep systems and operations humming smoothly. Program participants learn how to satisfy Tier level requirements and business objectives at the same time.

ATS is a 16 hour program and accreditation examination for data center managers and operators. It provides the knowledge you need to apply the Tier Standards and ensure that critical facilities — for which you are directly responsible — are designed, built, and operated to meet the needs of the business. The program is also applicable to outside experts who support data center managers.

Why the Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS)?
The ATS curriculum provides instruction on the Tier Standard: Topology and Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability, giving you a thorough grounding in the Standards and their application throughout the data center life cycle.

Benefits of completing the ATS program include:

  • A professional designation recognized throughout the industry
  • Learn to properly apply the Tier Standards from the experts who write and administer them
  • Avoid prevalent Tier misinterpretations that can cause over-investment or shortfalls
  • Effectively manage your outside experts and vendors
  • Understand and communicate with stakeholders the full capability of a single data center — or portfolio
  • Evaluate a facility’s true performance potential and avoid the shocks of unexpected outages
  • Better align infrastructure and staffing investment with the business mission
  • Bring together all stakeholders of your data center team to work to achieve a common uptime goal
